I was impressed with the speed of referral to hospital following an e-consult and being called in to see the doctor on the same day. My hospital appointment followed a few days later. The receptionist always try to be as helpful as possible and are always pleasant despite the number of people they must see each day and both the doctors and nurses always do a great job with commitment and kindness - well done!

Because I called at surgery for advice from the receptionist, who booked me in to see a Nurse that day. The Nurse recommended irrigation of my ears and put me on a list. Reception rang within a week offering an appointment for treatment which took place the following week. The Nurse was waiting for me, was kind and helpful, explained what she would do, and cleared both my ears without any fuss or problem. I was back in the car within 10 minutes, able to hear clearly, with instructions as to what to do next, with an invitation to call back if I needed to. A great experience.

I have very much a neutral opinion on the practice . There are staff who I feel really good the extra mile , in particular Sally the paramedic naturally radiates empathy and is warm and friendly . The econsult system is positive and allows me to consult a GP without going in the practice which enables others who require medical advice and guidance to have this urgently face to face . Sadly due to the cuts to the NHS currently I recognise that all staff are working really hard and are overstretched and appointment times for routine appointments can be a while but completely understand this is to be expected .

I can't fault the service I get from Westcourt. My GP is excellent but so are the others. The reception staff are lovely. Kind and friendly not the ogres some surgeries have. I'm always seen if urgent. They have a ring back service now which is great as nobody wants to wait being 30th in the queue. I do wish all surgeries would do away with the 8am rush though. Westcourt doing a fine job under difficult circumstances. There are far too many people to see and not enough surgeries.

Only downside which most practices are experiencing is ability to book an appointment in a timely manner, due to lack of availability All routine checks are dealt with very efficiently especially when you are sent a link to self book. I attended for my annual long term condition review and the one question I wanted to know the answer with she couldn’t help with. She was very pleasant but it felt very much like a tick box exercise. I used to be an Outreach Nurse and a large part of my job was answering queries, some quite tricky but I always got the answers. The practice team are always happy to help and although very busy they will always find you an appointment if it’s urgent. I had an appointment to see Julie, one of the nurses for an annual review. Whilst at the appointment I mentioned I had another appointment booked in a months time for a well man’s check. Julie simply entered the data into the system meaning I was able to cancel the appointment in a month's time, which also freed up the space for another patient. To me that’s going above and beyond, so thank you Julie!

I have had 3 major operations in the last 4 years including cancer and I’ve always received the best care and have been able to access appointments with GPs and Nurses as needed. I’ve also received telephone calls from my GP following up on my progress and checking how I’m getting on. My cancer was diagnosed completely by accident and if my GP hadn’t have referred me under the 2 week rule my outcome may have been terminal. I don’t contact the surgery unless it’s absolutely necessary, if all other avenues have proven unsuccessful.

As a new patient & having only seen a nurse twice, I can only speak as I find. Both appointments have been on time & put at my ease. My only complaint, if I’m being picky is due to the fact that my mobility is very compromised, I found it unfortunate that I had to walk very slowly with a walker all the way up to reception to book in, I then am told to go back the way I came to the small waiting room situated just inside the main door. For somebody like me with limited energy & mobility I this should be looked at to make it easier for patients such as myself. Other than that, very happy with the surgery.

The Triage system worked well for me. I received a speedy response following a Triage call, giving me an appointment the same morning. The people who took my details and a description of my symptoms were efficient, understanding and friendly. I felt they were keen to help amd support me to get medical help. The doctor was kind and understanding, explaining the cause of my symtoms and how I could help my recovery from pulled abdominal muscles. I was reassured that I had not incurred any internal injuries, which was my main concern.

Whilst I have always found the practice both professional and thorough. I still struggle to get a timely response I waited over 4 months for a test waiting for a piece of equipment to be made available. Also have had a couple of appointments rescheduled within hours of the due time

I am new to the surgery and I am extremely impressed with the system. The doctors I have seen have been fantastic. I want to mention Dr Victoria Brown, who has gone above and beyond and I am very grateful. One particular doctor I have had call me a couple of times, following an econsult had been a little abrupt both times and when you are in pain it isn't helpful, but equally I know they are under pressure and needing to call many patients in a certain time frame.

The staff are very friendly and if I need anything for my children (under the age of 16) or if my parents need anything (75+) your service is great. However, I feel that for my husband and I, (mid 40s) we are lacking in support - health checks cancelled, not put as priority over the young or elderly and smears checks cancelled. This may not necessarily be the fault of the practice but perhaps where the NHS is lacking as a whole.

We have found the team at westcourt to be both helpful and caring even though their resources are under extreme duress at this time. My only feedback is if text messages could be a more explicit in terms of what the appointment (i.e blood test, gp appointment , phone call) s for as this would prevent me from having to ring to find out details of the appointment as the appointment details are not visible on system.online . If appointments are planned the messages make sense it is when they have been booked by gp/nurse without prior warning it is confusing.

Good practice. But if you have a health check or blood test, then you have to wait nearly 3 months to see your gp to discuss any concerns about it. Or getting symptoms that are worrying you, and you wait so many weeks to see your gp, that is extremely concerning, and depressing. What if someone has a serious issue? It could be too late by then! E Consult is no good if you don't have a tablet or laptop..!

Well although routine appointments are a ridiculous 8 weeks to book, the response to online e-consults are very good. The staff on reception are lovely friendly ladies who do their best to help. I've only had experience of 1 doctor, 1 nurse & a phlebotomist they were lovely too. So yes, I would recommend Westcourt.

Like with all practices these days, it’s not easy to get a doctor’s appointment. However, that aside, the practice does genuinely have the patients care in mind. They do bend over backwards to help when necessary and I include in that all the staff, nurses and doctors.

I would not recommend any GPs practice in the area, as all are part of a broken system, too much cutting of corners, not consulting with patients and actively listening/actioning their concerns. The automated answering machine has lots of options to choose from and if there is a high number of callers for appointments they offer a call back service, which is very good. Not always easy to get a face to face appointment with a doctor but the paramedics are very good.

In the time since registering with this practice seeing a GP has become difficult. Sadly continuity of care no longer seems to be the norm. In my experience actually seeing a doctor is unlikly these days. The telephone reception staff members do try so hard to provide the best possible service. Nursing staff members also try to provide an equally good service. Hence my recommendation being neither fully posative nor fully negative.

When you get to see someone the sevice is ok but having to wait for up to 12weeks for an appointment is not any good. The GP service in the UK has been broken for at least 15 years and the NHS dental services are non existent and we are forced to pay £200 a year each for a checkup and polish.

Care was very personal and without a huge delay of contact. Dr Middleton made every effort to support me over various medical issues and explained things to me more than adequately. This is a good practice trying to find its way through difficult times, with the resources issues post Covid 19. Reception staff seem well trained to find out the basics of medical issues from patients and relay these issues to appropriate Doctors.

I had to attend the practice to show that I was still ALIVE ( for my Greek pension)and stand in front of the receptionist and sign a form to say that I was alive !!!!!!!! However was a little upset to find the dr I saw on 19/12/22 haven’t put on forms for me to have a blood test so I couldn’t have my bloods taken, I feel this is unacceptable as I then wasted an appointment and now have to wait another week for my bloods to be taken. Appointment cancelled 3 times in a row (last time only 15 mins before scheduled appointment with no explanation) and to make it worse each time done by text which means I then struggle to get through to the surgery to make a new appointment which is treated no differently to any other request meaning it is put to back of queue in terms of next appointment available. Now 2 years overdue as it is months between so called available appointments and no support at all given to try and rectify situation leaving me extremely worried especially given my family medical history.

Everyone at the surgery is so friendly and helpful, reception staff, HCA’s, nurses, doctors, paramedics. Even with all the pressure on them they are so accommodating and we have never had an issue speaking to someone about an illness. The immunisation nurses Sade and Kayleigh are so kind and this really helps when getting little ones vaccinated!

Westcourt consistently provides an extremely high level of service. I have been a patient at the surgery for about 19 years now and have never had any issues with any aspect of the care they provide. In that time I’ve had various minor ailments and a heart attack. I feel very lucky to be a patient at Westcourt and I feel very well looked after.

Always helpfull. Great staff both GP and nurses. Despite what people say i always seem to get an appointment when I need it. There is a bit more of a wait for non urgdnt appointments but that seems sensible. Routine follow ups for ongoing conditions are well organised, as well as call ups for flu and covid jabs. A good all round surgery.

Made one phone call and paramedics team called me back. Consultation conducted via phone, sent in photographs of the problem and further discussed over the phone what treatment would be suitable. Once agreed prescription issued to cover drugs and sent to my preferred pharmacy. Job done what’s not to like! Everyone was courteous and polite and very efficient. Getting an appointment with the surgery is extremely difficult and even if you want is obtained it’ll be weeks ahead and is often cancelled. I do realise that the NHS is under severe pressure, but it seems to me that the surgery is taking on far too many patients to be able to cover adequately.

I/We have nearly always been accommodated with appointments as we NEVER bother the Surgery unless we feel it absolutely necessary. We understand we are not the ONLY PATIENTS and are happy to fit in when we can with other patients needs. We were appalled during the Vaccination process at the way some patients shouted at the staff on a Saturday morning and one young nurse ended up in tears. We consoled her at the time and I did turn up on the Monday morning with doughnuts to hopefully show the staff that we as patients had respect for the staff

Asked for certain tests, was told would be testing for certain ones then when it came to the tests they didn’t test for what we was looking for and a urine sample was good enough even though the doctor said it’s not accurate for what we was looking for. Also not invited for flu jab and I’m a serious risk and got told to wait in the wrong waiting room for nearly 1hour. And I’ve come away with no more information than what I googled myself before hand. Absolutely useless.

Admin is shocking. I had more stress sorting out my prescription than actually having my heart attack. On 22 November I get a reminder about a blood test for liver function. I had this test at Westcourt on 1 November. 3 weeks earlier. Drs say book yourself in for a test in 6 months, booking isn’t open that far in advance.

Reception and administration staff so helpful and professional. Appointments system works well. Especiall using online portal, and call back on day or telephone appointments. Response from medical staff at appointment not rushed, diagnosis usually found, with treatment explained in a way you can understand. However if not then refered promptly to other services within NHS. Having only lived within the area for eighteen months, I am able to compare the trust here with another. All I can say is though a recent referral, I finally have a diagnosis after 26 years. Which has made a positive impact on my health. The only problem I have had is setting up the on line portal but that is through mu lack of computer skills. Therefore i worry that others may experience this also.

I am in pain and asked to speak with a Gp. I was advised that a Gp would call me urgently the same day. A Gp asked that a receptionist call me to advise me that I could see a Gp some 6 weeks later! I currently have severe leg twitches / pain and aches with periodic heavy legs and am finding it difficult to walk. It seems going to A&E is now the norm to be able to see or speak with a doctor.

I believe that recent problems with arranging appointments are entirely caused by the ever increasing population in this area and both national and local government policies and attitudes to the NHS generally.

Due to my experiences at the practice over a number of years. Friends who attend Westcourt have the same sad story. If you where a privately run company you would have gone bust long ago. You appear to run the practice for the benefit of the staff, not for the patients

Lack of seeing the same doctor each time , due to the complexity of my illnesses, having to explain each time. Lack of being able to book a blood test which is critical to my rare disease, Vasculitus and the stress it causes. Which in turn doesn't help my disease.

Quick and easy to make appointments and self login on arrival makes the experience better. The waiting areas are open and have an airy atmosphere. Doctors don’t run to far behind. On this occasion only 19 mins. A refreshing difference.

It is difficult to see a doctor. I have only ever seen a paramedic. The best service is the online one. I have received quite prompt and satisfactory responses including arranging for a prescription at the chemist for me to collect.

Generally I am very pleased with Westcourt. But sometimes I am not. I have just had my ears dewaxed and as the previous time I was disappointed. The doctor had to leave some wax in one ear, which I said was painful. I expected another appointment to be soon but when I phoned up I was told I was again at the back of the list

Very difficult to see he same Gp or any gp. Time wasted on phone consultations for eg ear infections when patient has record of infections. Finally after 2cyears of dishing out antibiotics pills and sprays a n aspiration apptment reveals bacteria and fungus in. Had a face to face apptmennt been given orinally it would not have wasted hours on phone getting appointments, waiting for return calls and masses of earsprays and minor antibiotics(known to be bad when regularly taken ) approx 5 times in past 2 years! Waste of money too. Many other similar incidents over time. Understand the numbers of G ps is too low at the practice.

Staff do not pay attention to messages left regarding contact numbers. I was supposedly called on a Wednesday afternoon (on an old number we have asked to not be on record. I now have to wait until January to have an appointment for my son which was supposed to have had an urgent 2 week referral for a scan. We have not had this and have no idea why we need this 2nd appointment. My son still has the problem but we have got no where and now will have to wait until January

My mother has been trying to reach your receptionist by phone for nearly three weeks now to try and make an appointment for a blood test. Every time she gets down to the last person in the queue the phone goes dead. She is nearly 80 years old and is not able to access on line. She also was called for her flu vaccine, however, when she turned up at 08:30 on a Saturday morning she was told the vaccine had run out! How is this even possible, why wasn’t she contacted, surely you must have know you did t have enough vaccine on Friday? She is getting quite frail and I love over an hour away, I am deeply concerned about my mothers ability to access your services.

I would say 'unlikely' but there is little good alternative. Once contacted, the staff are pleasant and professional. The problem is making contact in the first place. We were being told to call at less busy times if not urgent, so I do. When I call today I hear that the less busy time is now too busy as staff are dealing with administration! Communication is very weak and I feel like a second-class citizen for needing, daring to try to contact the surgery. The tone in recorded messages are terse, officious, and unwelcoming. I need medications and I now need to make an appointment to replace an appointment cancelled BY the surgery in July when they said that they would contact ME to remake an appointment! Test results ordered by a GP show, from my own research, that I am now type 2 diabetic, and have been since early summer, at least. The replacement appointment was never made by the surgery and I remain formally undiagnosed and, consequently untreated. We hear that there is a shortage of GPs but these are administrative tasks that do NOT require an £80K p.a. GP to resolve. Administration is so full of cracks my guess is that a lot of other patients are also falling through them. It is not the medical treatment that is failing, nor the front-of house staff (who are professional and friendly), it seems that it is the management of the administrative services that is not up to par, and people are suffering as a result. Somehow, I suspect that these comments will not get published, anonymously, on your website, despite ticking the box...

I usually use the NHS App to order repeat prescriptions. On Saturday, 29th May I went to order 3 items, but the app wouldn't allow me, as the items needed to be reviewed by a clinician. Therefore, on Tuesday, 1st June I phoned the surgery and explained the situation, that I needed 3 items of which one I had only just over a week's left, as I only get 28 day's worth at a time. I also asked if that could be increased to 56 day's worth in line with my other items. By the next Tuesday, the app was still showing the items as awaiting for review, but as I was due for a call from the doctor that afternoon, I thought I would wait and speak to him. I then got a call to say the doctor wouldn't be able to make the call that day and they could fit me in again on 1st July!! I asked about my prescription and was told that nothing had been done. I explained that it was getting urgent as I only had a few days left of the one medication. They said it would be pushed through as an urgent matter, but another 2 days later and nothing further has happened, as the pharmacy checked for me.

You have just spoken with my daughter this morning at 8am. She spoke with Mandy. Becky was directed to sexual health clinic and enquired how long she would need to wait in weeks or months as she also suffers badly with urinary track issues and Mandy just told her there are 30 people in front of her and put the phone down. Being rude to people in distress is very poor and something I would expect a receptionist to understand.

Poor communication to patients with regard to who would be calling them to offer covid vaccine. I have heard many complaints from elderly patients they were getting calls from numbers they didn't recognise so they didn't answer and are now concerned they have missed an appointment. I know you have since put out a message re this but unfortunately too little too late to stop their anxiety. Then they hear the army are helping with the demand but they are still waiting. As Fitzalan and Angmering /Coppice are way ahead of the game it might be prudent to ask for some help maybe?

I had a return call from a very nice lady Paramedic and my apologies for not remembering her name. She diagnosed an injury to my foot and recommended me to have it x-rayed. I attended the memorial Hospital in Bognor Regis in the Minor Injuries department, who confirmed a small fracture on a bone in my foot. My sincere thanks to the Westcourt Paramedic who was superb and the hospital for their care and attention. What a fantastic NHS we have, you are all a credit to our service.

It was very simple to get an appointment, the receptionist was very kind, friendly and understanding. My appointment was about 30minutes late but Dr Torry was very understanding and reassuring and kind that it didn't matter I had waited. Possibly the best Dr I have seen. Thank you Dr Torry.
