Measles Outbreak in Surrey

There is currently an outbreak of measles in Surrey. There are also confirmed measles outbreaks in Liverpool, Leeds and the West Midlands, as well as large outbreaks across Europe with  Romania, Italy, Germany and Greece being the worst affected countries.

If you have a rash and don't feel very well, please do not come to the surgery or attend your local A&E. Call us or NHS 111 for advice - that way, if you do have measles, you won't pass it on to anyone else. It can be a fatal disease if someone has a weak immune system and can't fight it off, or if a pregnant woman catches measles, it can harm the baby.

Global Shortage - Hepatitis A & B Vaccines

There is a global shortage of Hepatitis A & B vaccinations; the Department of Health and Public Health England are working very closely with manufacturers of these vaccines to understand their supply situations.

Patients are advised that these vaccines will not be available in the practice for the immediate future and are advised to check travel clinics for availability. Vaccines provided by a private clinic will carry a charge.

You can still book travel appointments in the practice for all other vaccines and also receive travel advice for all other travel related diseases i.e. Malaria, Dengue Fever and Zika Virus.

Friends & Family Test - we need your feedback!

NHS England are requesting all practices in the UK to ask patients who attend appointments to answer a question (called the Friends & Family Test) regarding the quality of service we provide. If you've had a recent appointment, or telephone consultation, with a doctor or nurse please do fill in the form by clicking here.

If you allow us to communicate with you via mobile phone, you will receive a text message approximately 2 hours after attending an appointment, asking for your feedback via text. Follow the instructions in the text and let us know your thoughts. You can also complete the form at the Reception Desk, or via the online patient services.

Results can be found on the NHS Choices website.

During August 2018 we had a total of 404 responses from patients:

  • 316 patients would be extremely likely to recommend us to their friends and family;
  • 62 patients would be likely to recommend us;
  • 9 patients were neither likely nor unlikely to recommend us;
  • 5 patients would be unlikely to recommend us;
  • 8 patients would be extremely unlikely to recommend us;
  • 4 patients weren't sure.

We are very grateful to patients who take the time to respond. Your feedback helps us assess the effectiveness and efficiency of our services, and to make sure we are doing things right.

If you have a concern or complaint you would like to address with us, please do so using the practice's complaints procedure. Leaving anonymous feedback via the Friends & Family Test means we are unable to look further into individual issues. Please only use the Friends and Family Test for general feedback.


You can now use the automated telephone system to order your repeat prescriptions. All you will need is a 6 digit pin number which you can request from Reception and this can be a number of your choice.

As usual, please allow 72 hours for your prescription request to be processed.

Arun Locality 'MIAMI' Clinics

The six remaining practices in Arun are running a shared 'MIAMI' clinic, based at The Park Surgery in Littlehampton.

MIAMI stands for Minor Injury Assessment and Minor Illness and provides additional pre-bookable and same day urgent appointments between 1pm and 6pm Monday to Friday.

MIAMI clinicians can see patients with short term problems that:

  • have lasted no longer than 14 days; and
  • have not been seen by a GP previously.

If you are offered a MIAMI appointment and can travel to The Park Surgery, please do use the service. 


CQC rate Westcourt as OUTSTANDING!

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) is the independent regulator of healthcare services in England and makes sure services such as hospitals, care homes, dentists and GP surgeries provide people with safe, effective, compassionate and high-quality care, and encourages these services to improve.

The CQC monitors and inspects these services, and then publishes its findings and ratings to help people make choices about their care.

CQC inspection teams are made up of clinical and other experts, as well as people with direct experience of the relevant type of care. The teams visit services, speak to staff and patients, and observe the care provided.

We had our first inspection on 14th April and we have been rated as 'Outstanding'. This is a huge achievement for the entire practice team and we are very proud of the result. You can read the full report below.
